Making up formula in the night

How do you do this quickly and without baby screaming? I'll be moving baby on to full formula feeing soon but not sure how to tackle this? Hate the thought of baby screaming whilst waiting for food.

I make up the bottle in advance and store it in the back of the fridge. When dd starts to stir I nip downstairs, stick the bottle in the microwave for 40 seconds, give it a good shake and it's good to go.

If you can buy the one that comes in little boxes so you do not have to store it in tnte fridge. Otherwike do what kim says but make a few trials in advance to make sure the temperature is ok.

Hi. I don't FF but if I did or do in future I would buy one of these:

www.amazon.co.uk/Tommee-Tippee-Closer-Nature-Perfect/dp/B00BG6304A/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby&ie=UTF8&qid=1398199783&sr=1-1&keywords=tommee+tippee+perfect+prep

My friend has one and says it saves her and her baby a lot of heartache.

If you have a baby on full formula feeds, definitely get a perfect prep, it's the best thing I bought when I had dd and I bought it on offer and sold it on after so was only about £20 out of pocket in the end!

Twinklestar2 · 17/01/2015 11:27

Thanks - will look into Perfect Prep maching

I make up bottles in advance. As long as they're in the fridge not more than 12 hours. Then microwave.

Murphy29 · 17/01/2015 11:49

Definitely look in to the perfect prep, boots had it on offer recently which was a really good deal.

Be careful making up in advance, we were told by hospital and HV not to do so as guidance had changed and using microwave can lead to heat spots so wouldn't try that myself

ralv · 18/01/2015 16:52

Could you make up in advance and then run under the hot tap to bring to room temp?

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 18/01/2015 16:55

I used the aptimil ready made bottles.

HoggleHoggle · 18/01/2015 17:00

I made bottles up in advance (no more than 12 hours ahead) and then grabbed out fridge and warmed. There's no flipping way ds would have waited for me to faff with formula, day or night.

As ds got a bit more robust we would take a bottle out the fridge after one night feed so it was room temp by the time of the next one. Weirdly it was a mw who suggested that. I think next time I will just use the small ready made bottles for night time.

Ready made is a godsend!

CPtart · 18/01/2015 17:14

Years ago now...but made up bottles in fridge. Husband brought up and put by bed in bottle carrier when he came up to bed. Warmed in bottle warmer at bedside when baby woke. No need to even leave the bedroom.

footallsock · 18/01/2015 17:35

I did exactly the same as kim82 both times

Middleagedmotheroftwo · 18/01/2015 17:37

Murphy hotspots diffuse when you shake or stir things.
