Is it just me or are nipple pads a bit s**t?

They just scrunch up in my bra every time I pull the cup back up after feeding. I've used the Boots ones and some Avent ones that came with a bottle/pump/steriliser kit I bought. Both have a rubbish, very small adhesive strip that doesn't do a great job holding them in place. Or am I just doing it wrong?

No. Silicon breast pads are not breast shells. Silicon breast pads are things like 'lillypadz', which are small and discreet and don't collect milk.

If you tend towards oversupply, I think there can be issues with breast shells.

Yes, I don't think breast shells did us any favours. I used them only during feeds with DC1 to collect the leakage from the other side. I could easily fill a breast shell with the leakage. The leaky milk is quite watery so not great for feeding baby with.

Went through 100s of breast pads too. Literally 20 a day. Never had scrunching problems, always had leaking through the breast pad issues. Had to leave the house with two spare tops and stuff a muslin down the other side when feeding.

Our local milk bank won't take leaked milk.

The lilypadz silicon ones were a revelation at first, but they soon lose their sticky. Still better than the disposable ones though. Am pregnant again so will try the fabric ones this time. Thanks for the tip folks.

I've just ordered a 10-pack of Little Lamb bamboo reusable ones...Grin

Another vote for lansinoh ones. Used tommee tippee if I really had to but lansinoh were the best for me. I also didn't use the sticky bit, just put them in and pulled it out before feeding then put it back in again so it would it bunch
