Using thawed EBM ...

I have a bottle of EBM which I took out of the freezer last night and defrosted in the fridge. It hasn't been used or taken out of the fridge so can I use it tomorrow (ie. it'll have been in the fridge 36 hrs when I use it)?

Thanks

I am sure it will be fine.

Thanks Mears ... don't have to break my heart and pour it down the drain tonight anyway!

EBM is liquid gold. It would have to be rancid/growing fungus before I would chuck it out Did you know that EBM for your own baby is OK in the main part of the fridge for up to 5 days? (before freezing)

I always went on the principle if it smelt alright then it was alright !

If you aren't sure then use it to cook with (assuming your baby is on solids) - eg rice pudding, custard.

Thanks ... tell me about it being liquid gold - don't I know it. He did a couple of hrs at nursery today and I sent it with him - he just sipped it and wouldn't take it so it had to be thrown out as it had been heated. Not on solids yet so using it for that wasn't an option !

I know that may be the official advice Mears, but mine always whiffed after about 2 days. Maybe 3 days, if fridge is very cold.
