Hmm think I'm just posting for reassurance... We've been weaning DS since about 5.5 months with varying success -I offer him food when I eat and sometimes he's into it and sometimes not (though in the last three days he's really got a lot more interested in food and is starting to cram in anything we offer him!) I know most of his nutrition should still come from milk so I'm not worried about him as such, but just wondering if this sounds like a normal pattern and if I should be expecting him to drop some feeds at some point? I'm not too worried just now but I'd rather he woke up a bit less when I go back to work and we're starting some settling in with the childminder too - in a couple of months time he'll have to go 3 days a week without any daytime feeds at all :(

So (not a fixed routine but the general idea!)

Awake for the day - anywhere from 5:30 - 6:30 am (maybe a small feed)
Breakfast - 7:30am
Feed and nap (feeds to sleep) - 9:30-10:15
Feed - 10:45am
Lunch - 12
Feed 1:30
Feed and nap 2 or 2:30ish - 3 or sometimes 4
Feed 4:30
Dinner 5:30
Feed and bed 7ish
Usually wakes up about an hour later for another feed and then approx 11/12ish, 2/3ish and 5ish.... And repeat!

My ds2 is also 7 months, he feeds roughly every 2-3 hours day and night! He was doing well with weaning but now he's not really interested ?? sorry I can't offer much reassurance but I'm sure they start dropping feeds off when they are ready, the fact that he's enjoying food on top of his milk feeds prob means he's having the right amount for him.

All sounds quite normal but if you were wanting him to increase food intake I might be tempted to offer a snack mid afternoon/morning rather than a feed then he might be more ready for his dinner/lunch?? I found that my DS only really "took" to eating and dropped feeds when he was having a meal 2 hours-ish after a feed so he was hungry (but not starving).
