Taking bottles when going out for the day...

So, first time mum, DS born a week ago so we are just starting to leave the house. I have been expressing for various reasons and would like to take a bottle with me when I leave the house, incase we need it.
What do you do? Is it ok to take out of the fridge, pop in the bag and then warm up when out? Does it go off if we are out for too long? Do I need some sort of cool bag?
I'm sure this should be easy and I am overthinking it but wondered what other people do?
Can anyone help?

The easiest thing for trips out I found was the pre made up bottles you can buy.
I made sure I gave DS a bottle before we went out, then took a bottle of SMA pre made with us. It was very rare we were out and about long enough in the early days for him to need another bottle before we got back but it was there if he wanted.
If we went to someone's house I just took formula in a little plastic tub and an empty bottle and made it up at their house for him.
My nappy bag has a section to keep bottles warm/cool and sometimes I did put a freshly made bottle in there for him if I knew he'd drink it fairly soon. I wouldn't want to walk round with one I'd made for a long time though.
Congratulations on your little one btw. I think preparing for the first trip out took longer than we were out!

Yes, sorry, I am breast feeding, it's taking out a bottle of expressed milk that I need help with. Should I try to keep it cold or is it ok that it warms up a bit?

It should keep for 6 hours from when you remove from fridge. You might not need to heat it up if your baby doesn't mind it cold. Also, once your baby has some it should be used within the hour.

I keep mine in a cool bag, but it's not essential. Maybe just keep it out of the sun.

It is fine to come up to room temp etc.
