Unofficial reasons for breastfeeding - lighthearted

I though we could make a list of all the reasons why breastfeeding is awesome once you get the hang of it that they don't tell you at nct etc.

1 you can play candy crush and breastfeed simultaneously

2 you have a good excuse to eat more cake

3 you can breastfeed and post in mn at the same time

Feel free to add!

Differentiating between his cries, if, for random example, he falls off the bed again. If I can stick a boob in and he calms down I know he's fine.

Being able to play on the xbox while breastfeeding.

Not having to get out of bed at night.

Making DH deal with the nappies cos I spent so much time feeding the baby, which is very hard work Grin

lettertoherms · 26/09/2014 04:05

Lina I proper laughed out loud on the bus at that!

squizita · 26/09/2014 09:09

Little mine is a week old and DH is on paternity "leave". Yesterday he did all the chores, most of the nappies and dealt with visitors. Oh and went on Costas runs.
Then told me how proud he was of my hard work as baby looked "so chubby" and gave me donuts. I only got up for nipper cream and toilet breaks.

YY to all of these. Total bliss of leaving the house without worrying about how to keep milk cool/heat milk or feeling guilty about using stupidly expensive cartons.

Not paying for milk, full stop.

Not having to faf with sterilising, boiling kettles etc. with toddler under my feet.

DD2 would not nap when DD1 was about (didn't matter if she was quiet, DD2 was just fascinated by people), but she would BF and snooze on my lap while DD1 and I shared a book.

Instant medicine for when sick and grumpy.

Instant sticky eye cure! Grin

I love it.

Super lazy so no bottle faff.

Would hate to listen to DS cry while I made bottle. Brilliant for a quick calm him down snack.

Excuse to watch TV and be waited on. Also found MN which is my middle of the night salvation.

Sleepy baby milk cuddles.

I've lost 3 1/2 stone in 4 1/2 months. Under my pre pregnancy weight. Grin

Love the connection.

ColdCottage · 26/09/2014 12:09

Oh yes, love that its free Grin

LavalavalavaLamp · 27/09/2014 23:27

My sinuses clear when I breastfeed and hand expressing is like the ultimate klaxon, especially if I've had a blocked duct and can squeeze the hard bit out.

RedCountryRoads · 28/09/2014 21:53

"baby is still feeding, you'll have to make tea" :)
Love being able to not get out of bed to feed at night. I'm so lazy.
Great excuse to eat anything and everything.

sweetkitty · 28/09/2014 21:59

Going to feed the baby to sleep in the evening, sticking the tv on subtitles and mute and just lying there feeding whilst DP puts all the others to bed.

Miss the "but I'm feeding" excuse.

Your all right imagine having to actually get up out of bed in the night to feed the baby.

Hedgehogging · 28/09/2014 22:16

This is great.

Actually having cleavage. I never want to stop.

YY to not having to get out of bed at night. And no nighttime crying. Not much crying ever in fact, due to the "if in doubt, boob" mantra.

The joy of looking at DD's squishy legs and thinking "I did that".

DP referring to DD as a Free Range baby.
