Feeding rant

6 mo DD is BF and I am struggling with supply and desperate for a break. I can't stop as she won't take a bottle and has had an allergic reaction to formula. I have to go back to work in 2 weeks and I don't know how I'm going to leave her. She is showing no interest in solids either. I'll be working some nights and she's up for a feed every 2 hours at the moment so DH and DS will be disrupted massively when I'm at work. I'm exhausted and feeling overwhelmed. I don't know what to do to help the situation. I just needed to get this off my chest. Off to paediatrician in morning for DD allergy testing. Hopefully they will have some advice. I hate feeling like I'm failing my family Sad

Have you tried lots of different types of bottles? My daughter refused all bottles till I tried the NUk ones and then she would accept a bottle of expressed milk and I slowly introduced formula. Also if she has allergies maybe you should cut dairy from your diet, it might help.

At 6 month's you could go straight to a sippy cup, Mayne starting with expressed bbreast milk would help with the transition.

Thanks for your replies. She was taking expressed milk but is now refusing. I'm also only able to pump around 20mls at a time which is why we tried formula. Have tried a sippy cup as well as avent, NUK, closer to nature, etc (I may start trading Smile) but no luck. Think The ultra early wake up is making everything seem harder today. Will have to keep persevering.

Oh it is utterly exhausting and thinking about going back to work must be very stressful. Keep strong, keep trying the bottles. I have one just a bit older who is up all times of the night feeding and gets up before dawn so I sympathise Thanks

It took a month of offering a bottle three times a day until my dd finally gave in and drank from it. It helped having DH offer it, with her on his lap facing away from him. DD has multiple food allergies so I was also trying to swap from ebm to a special formula as I was shattered from being on a restricted diet. I feel for you, she will take to it eventually but it may take some time.
