ouch!!!got a blister on one nipple...it was clear last week, and a few days ago it looks like its got blood in it now..
it is sooo painful to feed from and throbs for a while after a feed too.
whats the best move?pop it or leave it?if i leave it (never really been a fan of popping blisters!) how long can i expect before it goes away?

I got a blister that turned into mastitis as it infected the whole breast. Once it got infected I had a bath every day (I usually brought the baby in with me) and added tea tree oil to the water. The baths softened up the blister and kept everything clean.

If you start to feel poorly don't hesitate to get antibiotics and keep feeding on that boob, it'll hurt bike a bugger but otherwise you'll be engorged on top of the blister pain.

I think mine took a few days to clear. I was dosed up on painkillers from cs which helped with the pain. Ouch!!

I had a blister once and it was too painful to feed from

So I just fed from the other side but was really vigilant about hand expressing every couple of hrs

I had one of these and God it hurt. Every time DS latched on I was almost in tears, it was agony.

After putting up with it for a few days I decided to just stop feeding off that side and express the breast every 3-4 hours.

Within 36 hours of the breast not being used the blister disappeared and I was able to recommence feeding and it was pain free.
