Up until now I have ebf ds but he seems to be really struggling with bellyache and keeps throwing up, fussing at the breast and crying a lot. in the last 2 days I've given him ready made breastmilk substitute bottles ( because I had to go out, No time to express and going places I know I'd be asked to stop feeding and get into huge arguments). I've noticed he seems much better after the bottles and he's just had almost 4 ounces, expressed he'd only have 2. He's fine on breast at night so I was wondering if I could combination feed him with ready mades during the day and breast at night without it causing any problems for him.
Anyone had any experience with this or words of wisdom

I think people who are more able than me to advise will want to know how old the baby is? We used to give the occasional bottle of ready made formula but not routinely. I'm sure you've thought of this but are you doing anything differently at night (eg different position)?

I'm not sure if you meant you were going out to people's houses or to public places eg pubs but if you are in the UK it is illegal for you to be asked to stop breastfeeding in a public place or otherwise discriminated against (eg refuse to serve you).

He's 5 week's, was going out shopping, I know it's illegal to ask me to stop but the shopping centre I was going to the staff wouldn't know that and would ask me to move (which would cause a massive argument that I'd rather not get into with my baby there).
Not doing anything different at night he just seems very uncomfortable and in pain during the day especially in the evening Sad

To be honest it's normal for newborns to be fussy and colicky in the evenings. There's nothing you can really do to help then through this, they just grow out of it by about 12 weeks.

If you breastfeed then breast milk is easier to digest and gentler on the digestive system than formula so that would be the best thing to offer.
