Biting and nothing stops him!

Ds has recently grown his first 2 teeth and 2 more on the way. He's nearly 11 months.

He's recently started really biting and my nipples are in shreds (see pic of the inside of my bra Sad )

I've tried the usual. Saying no and removing from breast but it doesn't help. He just finds it funny ( however calm I am). He's not bothered about the feed stopping (I am though as it means he just wants to feed all night!)

Will this pass? Really don't want to stop Breastfeeding.

My dd got teeth earlier than your ds so I think had more time to get used to the sensation of them but she did nip me occasionally. It used to make me jump and quickly pull her off and tell her "no" and I think that approach generally worked as she realised it was her making that happen.

No blood though, you poor thing that must be really grim. Hope it gets sorted soon.

He laughs when I jump and today when I cried Sad

Yes I think you're right and it's to do with teething late. He generally seems to be suffering quite badly. I hope it just doesn't last.

I remember my DD going through this stage at about the same time. I think it lasted a week then she forgot all about it thankfully. Just firmly take your LO off when she does that and say no.

Another with early teethers here - both got two at 16 weeks! I was advised to try pulling the baby into the breast briefly , which completely goes against your instinct at the time! This makes them let go and try to pull away.

I remember getting infected boob from DS biting. It Is right push in not pull away once unclamped. Take him away from the boob for a short time

Ouch ....Teething powders before a feed really helped here.
