Oversupply after tongue tie snip?

DD got her tongue tie snipped at 12 weeks on Friday, and the feeding improved immediately! (Somewhat annoying as we were initially told the TT was very mild and that it didn't need attending to.)

Weirdly, though, today I've been over-engorged on both sides though DD is feeding at the same sort of times as usual. It's made it difficult for her to latch and the rapid letdown is making her choke and very upset. She doesn't seem to be able to drain the breast fully as well, even though she's only on one side per feeding and feeds for nearly 20 minutes with a much better latch than before.

Is this an effect of the snip (because she's more efficient) and will it resolve itself? Or should I be block feeding to lessen my supply?

I'm only concerned because she's just coming out of a week-long nursing strike and I'm terrified that it's going to happen again if feeding is upsetting her. I had assumed that due to the nursing strike my supply would be on the low side at the moment but the opposite seems to be true.

I'm guessing you have been expressing during the nursing strike?

Now the TT has been snipped she is probably able to stimulate the breast much better, which would increase your supply. Is she also going a bit longer between feeds now the latch has improved?

Hand express for both your comfort and it will settle down again. Takes a a few days for them to really get to grips with the new latch.
