Breaking night feed- no breakfast cycle.

My 6 mo old usually has a dream feed and then wakes around 2/3am for a feed, but, he then isn't interested in breakfast or morning bottle until around 9/930 so clearly doesn't need night feed.

I'm also back to work soon and have an early waking toddler so keen for an uninterrupted nights sleep.

I have reduced feeds at 2am and also diluted them, but he still hasn't given them up or been more interested in breakfast.

Tonight I plan to try and either go cold turkey or just give water.

Anyone had similar and had success with breaking the feed?

I'm in the same boat with my 10 mo. She feeds in the night and then is not interested in breakfast or boob in the morning. I started work last week and this morning I had to take her to nursery without a morning feed. So she breastfed at 3am and then no milk till 4.40 pm :(
I think I should try and not feed her after midnight but she has always been a crap sleeper and I do whatever I have to do to get some sleep. Shock

Let me know how you get on please. Good luck!

Milk is still the most nutritious food under the age of 1.

Yep- still happy to give milk - that's what I mean by breakfast. He doesn't have his first solids until 12. I just want him to try and shift his long stretch which is currently 2am -930am to 10pm-6am.

He's not remotely interested in his first milk feed for hours and hours!
