I have worked in daycare in the past where parents bring in measured out water in the bottles and measured out formula in separate pots. We would then put the water in the microwave for around 20seconds to warm it, pour in the formula, and then shake. This way, it was ready to drink almost immediately.
Is this wrong? Everything I have read from reading into it has said that the water needs to be at least 70degress in order to kill any bacteria in the formula powder.
A lot of our children liked the formula lukewarm (over 6 months of age), so it was nowhere near this hot.
How is the best way to reheat pre-boiled water to make a bottle feed?
One of the pieces of advice that I have read says you can put the bottle into a jug of boiling water for 15 mins.... would this raise the temperature to over 70degrees? How long would you need to wait for it to cool down to drinking temperature after this.
