I had my baby on Thursday by c section. We managed to establish feeding well, the last few days have been a little painful but fine... But this evening she has been feeding since 5pm (having fed well throughout the day) it's now 11.40 - she has had one break of about 20 mins. I am now sore, exhausted and feel as tho she is no longer getting anything from me. She had been feeding then falling asleep on me however tonight she is very alert, no interest in falling asleep and I just don't know what to do.
I've found a drop in breastfeeding clinic for tomorrow but any ideas on helping her settle a bit more now?
Sorry long and waffley but I don't know what to do. Thank you. X

This happened to me!! Just stick with it. People didn't believ that he wanted to feed so much but he did. Use lansinoh. I know have a thriving baby who feeds a lot further apart and sleeps from 8-5 ( fully breast fed) at 13 weeks. It will get easier. Keep snacks and fluids near you. Buy some of your fave treats to eat whilst she feeds. He did this for
Around two weeks. It gets easier. I nearly gave up and one night I bought formula as I felt I couldn't go on but I did and haven't looked back.

And also I Co slept for first 10 weeks which kept me sane and settled him.

And I also had a section so found lying down most comfortable

Is your husband or partner to hand?

He could do some lovely skin to skin with her while you try to grab a sleep upstairs.

Thank you, it's nice to know I'm not alone - I just wish I could get her to settle I'm sure if we both managed a bit of rest I'd feel I could cope a lot better. Thank you for posting x

The only way I slept was him co sleeping with me. Or swaddling some ppl like? But really she just needs to be next to you.

My baby did this! We'd had trouble with her latching and my milk had only just come in so she had been getting formula top ups prior to this. I was so keen to get off the formula that I let her feed and feed and feed and ended up with blisters and sore nipples. (Still doesn't always have a great latch sometimes at 18 weeks even though EBF ) in hind sight I might have given one or two more top ups but recognize that mightn't be the advice you'd get if you were worried about establishing supply. At the time I was worried it would be a slippery slope into FF when I had wanted to BF so if you can stick with it it will get better! Unless she is actually crying with hunger try and have someone take her in another room while you sleep. The early days cluster feeding is hard but I remember everyone telling me it would get easier and it honestly does.

Cluster feeding so that your supply comes in, my son did it every night from 6-12 for a while.

Totally normal and does ease off :)
