Using expressed foremilk?

My LB has started to feed less frequently at night but I have been waking up very full and expressed 1-2 ounces to be more comfortable. I have frozen the expressed milk and was planning to pool it for a single bottle feed. However, as I have only expressed a little bit at a time it is mainly aqueous foremilk. Would it be ok for a one-off feed or is it better to discard it?

It's absolutely fine. It's still milk, and it would be a waste to chuck it. There is no hard and fast distinction between fore and hind milk anyway, rather a gradual transition between the two. As a one off feed I can't see that it would cause a problem.

When you express, there will alway be a somewhat different make up of the milk compared to direct from the breast, as the milk is not being created on demand to suit the situation.

Brilliant thanks! It is just that it looks much thinner than when I express bigger volumes.
