Best bottle for greedy newborn that keeps choking!?

My daughter is a week old and on formula (tried breastfeeding but she wouldn't latch, even with nipple shields, and wasn't getting the nutrition she needed). One week on and she's making up for lost time and has her formula like there's no tomorrow, she just gulps it down - she's having 40-50ml every 3-4 hours on average - and ends up choking every feed, and it takes her a while to be able to breathe.

We're using the Tommee Tippee closer to nature bottles at the moment, just the normal coloured bottles, so we think we're going to have to change the type of bottles we're using. Any tips on which are best for babies who need slow flow teats (I'm guessing this is what she needs?), which brands etc we should go for? And will we be able to sterilise them in the Tommee Tippee steriliser we have? (complete newbie alert).

I think mawbroon may be right. Tongue tie can be very hard to get diagnosed. I mean you could told by 7 different people (mw,HV,GP's) there is no tongue tie and 1 person diagnoses it and it gets fixed. I believed the 'no there's no tongue tie' straight away but now at 9m I'm 99% sure he has some sort of tongue tie. It's not a big deal to get sorted, but do ask your HV to help you find people to get it looked at

At 8 weeks, our baby was gasping, coughing, and choking during bottle or nursing. Additionally, stuffy nose during feeding.
Problem with his suck, swallow, breathe coordination. Also, reflux, and with that, a little swelling in his throat.
Solution:
Only pumping, no nursing.
Bionix bottle, use the #1 setting. We could also use the Dr. Brown’s Ultra Preemie (not Preemie) nipple. Smallest nipple holes you can buy that aren’t hospital grade.
Put the baby in sidelying. His head, neck, and torso are all 90 degrees from the ground, in a straight line. This is very important. It lets the milk/formula collect in his cheek. I lay his head on my thigh, facing outward. His torso is on my other thigh. I put my legs together to make a lap for his arms. His legs are on a small pillow.
Take breaks every 3-5 sucks. Take the nipple out of his mouth or bend it down far enough so that he’s not getting any. This gives him time to breathe and swallow.
Wait for him to take 1-2 complete breaths before letting him suck again.
Every ounce, sit him up and burp him.
At the end, sit him up for 20 min, if reflux.
Give infant Zantac for reflux.
If that were not to work, we would put him on a thicker formula, like Similac Spit Up, and get hospital grade small nipple.
See a speech language pathologist and an Ear Nose Throat doctor.

I've been mixed feeding since day 5 - we use Philips Avent Natural bottles with the newborn test and they seem to be very slow flow.

Also you could Google 'paced bottle feeding' for some techniques on position etc. Really worked for us.

We didn’t get on with the TT bottles either and ds ended up spitting a lot of it out as he fed. We switched to the MAM newborn bottles and teats and the difference was startling! So much better.

Ds has also been repeatedly investigated for tongue tie btw, due to poor latch when bfing. But so far everyone has said he’s fine.

Both my DD’s struggled with the TT bottles. We used MAM with DD1 and are using Avent with DD2. We used the newborn teat and only switched to the next size up last week (when she was about 5 weeks). It may well be the bottles rather than your bab.

I suspect after 4 years the child isn't having bottles anymore
