Breastfeeding in a sling...

I have a Moby Wrap but with last DC I never mastered BF in it. This time round I have said toddler to look after whilst BF newborn (now 8 weeks). It'd be handy to be able to feed hands free. Anyone know whether this is easy & if so with which sling? TYIA

I've not used it but apparently the close caboo organic can be used to bf.

One that holds the baby sideways rather than head up is what you need. The sort that are really simple almost like a sheet work fine. I had one for DC2 and it was very handy for enabling me to move around to tend to DC1 whilst feeding.

The only sling I can breastfeed in is a ring sling. My babies didn't like being held in a cradle hold except for feeding, with a ring sling I found it really easy to adjust their positioning for feeding, latch on and tighten for hands free feeding, then adjust then back to upright position so they could sleep.

It was definitely the best thing I had for DCs 2 and 3 as I really could feed hands free.

Thx for that! Faintly ; a ring sling is what I thought I might need. Do you recommend one in particular?

I managed in a various kinds of Mai tie, a Connecta & a ring sling. Is there a sling library near you where they could advise you?

Following with interest. I have a moby too. I believe someone in my postnatal thread can feed in a moby.

Btw, ignore 'mrslel* - have seen a few, shall we say, weird/perverted posts from them.

I found the easiest to BF in was my Manduca. With any SSC you can loosen the straps to get the baby's head at the right height. But it might be a bit early yet - they need to be able to hold their head.

I think with any sling clothing can be an issue - you might find it worth investing in some 'proper' breastfeeding tops that give you access without having to pull a top up over your boob.

The new boba 4g seems good. Should last all the way through toddlerhood also as goes on back later. It has ways of clipping and adjusting straps to feed. Maybe look at it on YouTube or similar
