Help - suffering with D&V and breastfeeding

Help - I am completely bedridden with D&V and still breastfeeding my nearly 4 month old. This is no 2 and so far Breastfeeding relationship has been lovely, but feeling so under the weather has made me feel despondent about feeding and I just want to give myself a day or 2 break to try and get myself back to feeling better. baby seems to be on a growth spurt and up
every hour in the night, so lack of sleep is probably compounding my ability to get better (have been feeling really bad for a week now) would I be saying goodbye to our Breastfeeding relationship If I gave formula for 24-48 just in order to recoup? Please anyone with advice?? xx

Sorry you're feeling so rough.

If you took 2 days off, I'd worry your supply would drop so you'd need to pump to compensate, which doesn't help you at all!

Keep hydrated if you can.

Can you maybe keep baby in bed next to you so you can both just doze all day, or is there anyone around who can keep baby and bring to you for feeds?

I had this with DD when she was about 5 months and it was horrible. Thanks

Hope you feel better soon.

Oh you poor thing Hmm

I had D&V while EBF at Christmas once.

One thing to bear in mind is that while you EBF your baby will get antibodies in your milk as so is much less likely to get the bug too. DD was 5 months at the time and absolutely fine despite me being ill for 3 days. Do you have someone around to do absolutely everything else so you can stay in bed?

Sorry, didn't answer your question. A two -day break at this stage is unlikely to have a big impact on your supply but you would need to pump to avoid engorgement and potential mastitis. Thanks
