Anyone used jelonet?

Have been BFing DS since birth with no issues. He's 7 weeks now and I've developed a really sore, cracked nipple on my left side. I've been to see a HV who specialises in breastfeeding to observe a feed and she told me it's nothing to do with his latch as it looks fine and prescribed me some Jelonet gauze to put on after every feed. Has anyone used this and got success stories? When he latches on it's agonizing and I'm almost in tears at every feed.

I've used it. You are aiming for wet healing, kept the area moist using the gauze. It helped the round but you need to find the cause.

Can you get some bf support? It seems odd that this had happened at seven months. Sure lots of folk can advise of help.

He's 7 weeks not 7 months. Have been feeding fine since he was born and he's latching on exactly the same as he always has. He's latching on the same on the other side and I've had no issues on that side so no idea why it's suddenly happened. The HV I saw was really nice and said she was also a breastfeeding counselor and prescribed me the jelonet. She had a look at my boob as well and said it just looks cracked, no thrush or anything.

Yes I've used it when bfeeding both mine, it worked wonders. It stopped the cycle of blue, scab onto bra, rip scab off each time take range off to feed again, back to bleeding and the cycle starts again. Have recommended it to lots of friends, I smoothed nipples in lansinoh and then put the jelonet over the top.

I used jelonet when dd3 had tongue tie. Another good thing is lasinoh cream which you can slather on nipple, no need to wash off. Magic stuff. Just don't let nipple dry out.

Thanks ladies. I was letting my nipple air dry over the last few days and after reading some info on moist wound healing today can see that probably has contributed to the problem! It's only on one side thank god but really don't want to give up breastfeeding just yet.

Yes. Fantastic stuff. Only thing that helped me after 10 weeks of misery and one bad episode of mastitis.
