Hello, My little one is 7 weeks old and for the 1st 5 weeks or so was bf 6 times a day and seemed to be taking a decent amount of feed each time. The last couple of weeks she has become very colicky and it is difficult to get her to feed for much more than 5 minutes before she has what looks like an attack of tummy ache and then won't feed anymore. I am now spending the majority of the day trying to feed her in tiny amounts. Have tried infacol and gripe water for a few weeks but am not convinved they are doing any good. Im sure that its something that she will grow out of but in the meantime has anyone got any good advice?

This might be a really stupid question but are you winding her? I'm only asking because I know a couple of people who have been told by mw's that breastfed babies don't need winding .

Rubbing her tummy in a clockwise circular movement might help a bit, or lying her face down along your forearm and rubbing her tummy with the other hand can also help release a bit of trapped wind.

The only other thing to bear in mind is that she will have become a much more efficient feeder now and may not need more than a 5 min feed. Obviously you know your baby and know whether she's still hungry after that time but she may be getting all she needs in that feed.

HTH
