hi,
it was me who mentioned that lansinoh is available on prescription....i'm a midwife and i know for a fact that it has recently been approved for prescription (i got it myself after a little battle with gp!)
it is NOT on their lists yet as they maybe don't get updated that often...my gp had to handwrite the prescription and i took it to loyds pharmacy....they had it in stock.
the second time i took my prescription to sainsburys pharmacy and they had to order it in....but again no problem with lansinoh.
it doen't go under another name and purelan is not as pure as lansinoh!
both times that i got lansinoh on prescription though my gp didn't know what i was talking about but they know i'm a midwife so they believed me!
you could direct your gp to the website www.lansinoh.co.uk ! somewhere on there it states that it has been approved for prescription!
i agree with the earlier posts that you should maybe have someone check your latch if you are going through tubes at a rate of knots but i'm also using it a lot and i know my babies latch is fine....
it makes me mad, that aids for breastfeeding like lansionoh are difficult to get on prescription, whereas medication for a bottlefed baby that has contracted gastroenteritis through unclean bottles is no problem....
stick to your guns and demand to get the prescription!! you should NOT have to pay to get lansinoh!!!
good luck!
