Plus what age was it at?

DD has recently finished an 11 day nursing strike at 17m brought on by illness. After a few days back on the bf, she's now off again. :(
I don't think my supply has kept up very well.

Sorry to hear that. :(

It reminds me of struggling to feed a newborn: "You can lead a baby to the breast, but you can't make them drink"!! But I am trying to be really chilled out, and not hassle her about it.

Actually, she had a great big feed last night so I'm feeling more positive now.

So are you on a nursing strike yourself, Gimme?

Our 11 day strike just ended the early hours of this morning.

It was like it never happened - truly bizarre!

I pumped to keep it up maybe begin to manually pump a couple times a day to build it up again?

Yes, I tried pumping (groan) through the strike. I got some milk out OK from my right breast, but (as I'd found previously) I didn't have much luck with my left breast. Now she's restarted feeding, I've found that she feeds OK on the right but comes off after 10-20s on the left, which I'm hypothesising is because she isn't getting much milk out(??).

But like I say, she has now had a big feed on both sides, so presumably she got milk out then and hopefully that has helped stimulate production. She's got a cold which I'm guessing has made breathing difficult round feeding, and it seemed to really help having her feed upright rather than lying down. Funny because normally she insists on lying down.

How old is your DC?

GimmeDaBoobehz · 01/02/2014 21:50

She's nearly 10 months old.

Oh dear, that's very young - you poor things! I'm really glad to hear she restarted, though - hope she's carried on!!

I hope you've been OK yourself?? I found it very difficult emotionally, between worrying about her and feelings of rejection, plus apparently a hormone crash is normal. I cried for most of the first week!
