Out of curiosity.......

How old is your lo, how many feeds during the night do they wake for, how long are feeds and how long do they sleep?

I'm interested in this also. 21 weeks,19lb, down 1900 and up at 0600/0615, one wake for food - normally at 0300/0330. No dream feed. Twice made it through without any feeds - everything crossed this will return soon.....

My boy is 7 and a half weeks, he has a bottle of expressed milk at 7 and then usually wakes twice before 6-7 am. Eg last night he woke at midnight and 4am and then we got up at 7am. His feeds now last 25-30mins, when he starts dropping off one side I change his nappy and then he has the other side. When he finishes on the second side he goes back in his Moses basket and goes back to sleep.

I've actually been wondering about a dream feed at 10-11pm-ish, but to be honest I find his pattern absolutely fine and I'm not feeling tired (I am a nurse used to night shifts though!). I also worry that I could mess up his good habits, as he settles back to sleep really well so far.

19w dd, will sleep from (generally) 10-10, but with feeds at 10.20, 12, 3, 6, 8. Looks exhausting and excessive when I write that down! We co-sleep. Been like this since the start! Works for us and I'm comfortable with it.

DS is 15 weeks and has been sleeping from 11/12ish through to 8/9ish since about 10 weeks. He feeds almost constantly in the evening which I assume is him tanking him for the long sleep.

TheABC · 29/01/2014 20:52

My DS is 7 months. Feed and cuddle at 7:30/8:00pm, followed by feeds at 11pm, 2am, 5am, awake for a play and feed at 7:30am. Having said that, he has started to drop the 2am feed, so fingers crossed it continues. I have no idea how long he takes as we cosleep; I usually dunk a nipple in the mouth and leave him to it.

BonaDea · 29/01/2014 20:56

DS is 10 months. He goes down at 6.45 and sleeps through til 6.30-7.30. He has a dreamfeed at 10.30 ish (he will only sleep to about 5.30 without it which is too early for me).

DD is 7 months. She falls asleep at about 8pm, then usually wakes to feed around midnight, 3am and 5am, then will sleep until about 7 am. I think she might be waiting to see just how long it will take before sleep deprivation drives me potty.

At the same age DS (also BF) slept 7.30pm to 6am.

callamia · 29/01/2014 21:14

Pretty much the same as geordiejellybean.
15 weeks, goes to sleep around 10pm after feeding fairly solidly in the evening. Will either sleep til 6:30ish, or wake once (or last night twice, grrr).

Cakeismymaster · 29/01/2014 21:19

Dd is 19 weeks. Bed around 7.30, gets up around 7.30am.
BUT...sometimes wakes only twice around 1ish and 4ish for feeds of approx 15 mins....and then sometimes wakes every hour the whole night long for 5 mins a time. And then offer times does something in between..so as you can see, no pattern to it!
Ebf ds1 didn't sleep thru (ie 8 till 8) until 13 months old.

Cavort · 29/01/2014 21:21

7 month old DD sleeps 8-8 but wakes up for a feed and stays awake for 1-2 hours at around 4am and has done most nights since 4 months. Angry 50% of the time she wakes for a feed around midnight but goes straight back to sleep. Feeds last 15 mins.

LittleBabySqueakSqueak · 29/01/2014 23:44

18 weeks, goes to sleep between 10and 12 and sleeps through until 8-10. Occasionally wakes in the night but no more than once a week. I'm dreading the 4month sleep regression, we've got used to sleeping again!

AnythingNotEverything · 29/01/2014 23:59

DD is 14 weeks and ebf. She goes down at 10.30/11pm and sleeps through until 7.30/8am.

If you're interested in data, the ISIS sleep study is an independent research study on infant sleep, and they've found that mums who breastfeed report doing more feeds but getting more sleep than mums who formula feed. Info here: www.isisonline.org.uk

AnythingNotEverything · 30/01/2014 00:00

Sorry - meant to add she's slept like this since Christmas, so since 9/10 weeks.
