DD is almost 1. She started sleeping through at 9 months. When she was 10.5 months my period came back (in mid-December). Then over the Christmas season she woke in the night for a feed for a few nights (she had a horrid cold). And I have no period - it's been 5 weeks now. I'm not pg, I POAS this morning and was negative. Could a handful of night feeds stopped it all again, or is it just normal to not have a normal regular cycle when they come back? WAs on a 31 day cycle before I was pg.

She's not feeding in the night any more, although still waking, usually after she's been at nursery - actually I am ready to stop bfing but she is a bit unsettled atm as she's only on her second week at nursery and I am working 3/4 evenings a week which means bfing is a bit hit and miss although supply seems unaffected. I feel mean but sick of bfing now. Not sure what to do. If I am at home with her all day she has a feed first thing, then feeds to sleep for naps, and then a feed just before bed. Am sure it's just comfort as she's eating 3 good meals a day, although I would like her to drink more water/milk from a cup. I just don't know what to do for the best. Sorry for rambling, still at work and sooo tired!

Do what's best for you. If you are determined then it won't take too long for her to forget about those feeds. Try a change in routine. Instead of that feed first thing try taking her straight for breakfast. Get DP to do it if possible and treat yourself to a little lie in. Replace night feed with a story and cup of milk. Again get DP involved if possible. I fed until DD1 was 20 months and DD2 21 months. Dd1 wasn't bothered for a few months before I stopped and we never looked back. DD2 we went abroad on holiday and that week of changed routine did the trick.

thank you fellow sausage Smile

I think I will drop the bedtime feed this week. Her bedtime routine is different depending on who's doing it, so I think I'll do what DH does because he can't do what I do Wink. Hopefully that will give a bit more consistency, then I can drop the morning feed - although I am usually full of a morning, so might have to cut feed times down gradually to reduce milk supply (don't want to burst).
