Painful letdown and accelerated weight gain

My 17wo had a tricky start to feeding - v fussy, feeding constantly (14-16hrs a day); unresolved thrush (prob still has it), tt revision at 4 weeks which helped though I'd say it was 12/13 weeks before her feeding became noticeably less - and still more than other babies. She also pooed v v rarely - every 7-12 days from 3days to 3months when she saw a paediatrician and coincidentally began going more frequently. She's gone from dropping from 75>45 which she tracked for several weeks to suddenly seeming to treble before my eyes and indeed today she was weighed and has shot back up to 75th.

I'm suddenly experiencing painful letdown over the last week or two. Are these things related? Does it mean I have oversupply and if so do I need to tackle it?

I'm worried I may be feeding a bit much - I know it's supposedly a myth but I have heard midwives at breastfeeding cafes say it's possible. I just shove a boob in her mouthat any opportunity (since her weight first dropped) and as she's currently teething that seems to be hourly at night! Advice welcome. I'm happy with how things are but the letdown is getting gradually more painful and sleep deprivation also kicking in from all the night feedings..

You can't over feed a bf baby no matter what you've heard. I would talk to a BFC about your painful letdown and everything you've been through though. Have you got the helpline numbers?
