3month old vomitting

Why would a 3 month old vomit up an entire feed (ebf) out of the blue? or rather she used to do it about once a week or slightly less often when she was younger, but did it on Monday and again today. She is gaining weight (very) well, seems generally happy etc.
In the name of full disclosure she has been coughing a bit for a few days, and has gunky eyes. Also she's been a bit off food for a couple of days which I put down to being out for lunch and her suddenly becoming more aware of exciting stuff around her, as she has been frantically looking around. but does this sound like anything more sinister than an annoyance?

bump, I'm a bit worried so would like views on whether this is normal or not.

Being off food? Or milk? Is she on solids?

Is she breast or formula fed?

Could be:

  • Over fed, stomachs are so small still, if baby is sucky, she could be taking more than she needs
  • sickness bug?
  • not winded and then brining it up?

Could be a number of things tbh, probably best to see gp tomorrow, not to worry but to rule out Smile

Just saw ebf bit

My dd use to do his a lot. Never in pain just a sicky baby. She'd be sucky too so would over feed (they say you can't over feed baby but in my case you could, she'd just barf any 'excess' up)

Agree with fadbook, dd was like that and it's scary but unless she vomited her feed at least twice in the same day I wouldn't worry although that's hindsight, I certainly took her to the dr to get checked for this once to be safe. Also, when dd had a cough she'd often vomit after coughing, it seemed to trigger it. See how she is tomorrow, are you bathing the gunky eyes?

she is a greedy guzzler so maybe overfed. it just seems weird to overfeed tonight, lots of boring detail about lengths of feeds over the last few weeks, tonight did not seem like one.
She doesn't get much wind so I'm pretty lazy burping her so maybe it was that- she fussed a lot at the beginning so maybe took in lots of air then. I did burp her a bit but maybe not enough.
How would I know if she had a stomach bug?
Thanks for your reply.

my daughter did this when she had an ear infection. we had to give her antibiotics to clear it. after a day on antibiotics she was fine again...that was about a year ago!

In babies that young if the dirty nappies start stinking that's a sign - if you're worried tomorrow, pop to the GP. Certainly nothing here is shouting majorly worried but they see 100s of slightly concerned mums daily.

Dd would inhale her milk Grin

didn't see your reply earlier hermione, yes maybe the cough did trigger it. Her cough is upsetting, mostly because I have one and a sore throat so maybe I passed it to her. At least I'm making antibodies, hopefully.
And yes I am bathing the eyes, though just bathing doesnt remove the gunk so I've gone in hard with fingers and a muslin today to try and clear the old gunk. they look better but we'll see in the morning.
I don't like all these things on my perfect little baby!! It doesn't help that since Christmas sleep has gone to pieces. I'm really hoping it'll start getting easier soon, it seems to have just got harder since about 6 weeks. However the smiles have become wonderful, as has the talking, so they make up for it (most of the time)
