hi I have a friend who has just tried the boots electric breast pump to find that it didn't work for her at all. she used electric breast pump in hospital for a week and has no problems producing milk - she is looking for electric as she has tendonitis in hr thumbs after pregnancy - any suggestions about really good electric ones that i can tell her to look at

thanks
cheryl

ameda lactaline. excellent customer service and great resale value on ebay

Medela swing I use and I swear by it. Not quite as powerful as the hospital grade (they often use Medela), but more than enough.
I pumped several times a day for months and it's still brilliant.

does anyone know if there is a website where you can hire different breast pumps to try out?

Ameda Lactaline seems to get th best reviews - thats why I bought one. although tbh I found a manual pump gave me a much better let down so I use that instead. Lactaline is very straight forward to put together and use.

I have no problem with medela pumps - use several times a day, but boots electric didn't work for me at all - very frustrating.

Ameda lactaline worked well for me - handy that can do both sides at once (useful if expressing at work), and easy to put together/clean etc.
I found the avent handheld one useless.

You can hire them from the NCT
