Is she happy when she is doing this, or is it taking so long because she's fussing/unhappy?
Mine never really cluster fed apart from for whole days at each growth spurt, so the only reason he took so long to feed (up to 2 hours every feed) was because he had TT and CMPA (not trying to put a downer on you, but if she's unhappy then it might not be just cluster feeding).

What is CMPA? Erm she has had a fussy episode every day it seems for last 3 weeks at least which I have no idea what is about, she has been checked for tongue tie and it's not that.....

Are your evenings anything like this?

MissRatty · 08/01/2014 07:26

My breastfeeding group have said that cluster feeding can be usual during growth spurts, but longer than 40 minute feeds could be down to a poor latch...lo and behold I've been shown there I was going wrong and feeds are shorter...I only went yesterday mind, so early days yet...

Yes, my son was v unhappy when feeding - constantly on and off the boob and crying, which was why it took so long. To be honest I don't know how much of that was the tt and how much was the CPMA (sorry, should have said originally - cows milk protein allergy)
