12 wo thrashing around when feeding

My 12 wo has started thrashing around at the breast. I'd say its been going on about 2 or 3 weeks. He kicks his legs if they're touching anything like the arm of the chair, he tugs at my clothes and claws at me and pulls back his head. And he clamps down really hard when he latches on, but he's always done that.

Is all this normal now that he's more active generally? I think we've come through the 12 week growth spurt and he's doing plenty of wet and dirty nappies but I'm starting to worry I haven't got enough milk for him, even though my supply has always been excellent.

Is it every feed? When my DS thrashes about like that during a feed I unlatch him then wind him, then once he's got some wind up he's a lot calmer.

Watching with interest as my DS does that too.
Mighty annoying and also quite painful sometimes, what are these babies up to?!

mrsa when DS was doing that this morning I tried winding him but no burps so I switched side and he was immediately happy and fed well.
Perhaps giving boob a squeeze will get some milk out but not enough for a mouthful if you know what I mean?
Just had massive crying battle to get him to go for a nap but that's a whole other story!!

Thanks all. It's both sides and usually in the afternoon/evening but he did it this morning too. I've concluded it's wind - I was sitting him up to wind him, which he screamed about and resulted in no burps, but if I put him over my shoulder he usually produces some wind. He was calmer after that, so I'll keep on with that for the time being.
