Will be away from BF 20 month old for a week

I have to go away for a work trip when my daughter is 20 months ( she is currently 18 months). It's not possible to take her with me, so she will stay with my husband.

At the moment we cosleep and she breastfeeds morning and night, and at least 2-6 times during the night. In the weekends she will have 1-2 day feeds in addition. I'm not sure how she will adjust for a week without the night and morning feeds.

I don't want her to stop BF anytime soon and was hoping that she would continue until she was at least 2. I'm concerned that being away for a week could mean the end of BF altogether.

Has anyone had any similar experiences, or any tips? Thanks:-)

Watching with interest , I'm in the same position as you OP

I wasn't away for a week, but did go away for five days when DS1 was about 2 and had no problems - pumped a couple of times a day while I was away and he just resumed when I got back, didn't fully wean for another six months or so. He was pretty much down to just morning and evening feeds at the time and was already used to having the odd "no feed bedtime" with daddy, so maybe having some practice daddy bedtimes and/or something like Dr Jay Gordon's night weaning plan to reduce night feeds before you go might be helpful.

this is interesting , only downside is I don't have a pump anymore

You'd def need a pump if she hasn't weaned by then (or you're not amazingly good at hand expressing), you could end up veeeeery ouchy.

Yes that's what I'm thinking , thanks so much
