When will feeds start being more spaced out?

I know every baby is different but I was hoping to be feeding less often by now but it hasn't changed much at all!
DD is 12 weeks and EBF, also a bit of a giant (18lbs and long, not just fat) and she wants to feed all the time! She feeds when she wakes up, before she goes to sleep, and often inbetween too. Her awake periods last 1.5-2 hours, so during the day she is normally eating about once an hour, and sometimes more. Feeds last from a snacky 3 mins to a bingey 15.
I don't mind, bf is going well and I'm too lazy to do bottles, plus she is a bottle refuser. But it would be nice to know the end is in sight.
Anyone else had a baby like this? Give me some hope. False hope also welcome Grin

Can't offer much other than adding my hopes that feeds space out a bit here too.DS is 13weeks and feeding constantly resulting in v little sleep. He's only just 12lbs so whilst I'm conscious that he's still quite small and does still need to feed regularly, I'd love a bit more than 1hr20min sleep at a time! Also a bottle refuser, tried again this evening. So frustrating!

I did start a thread in the early hours this morning and it was pointed our that there is a big growth spurt around 12 weeks so things may well settle down for you soon.

12 weeks is growth spurt time, so not really the time to try spacing her out more.

Once that's over (once she seems a bit less hungry) you can try stretching the time between feeds, just by 5 mins a time, by distracting her "ooh look dd, something shiny!" gradually you can work up to 3 hours between feeds. Distraction gets easier as they get older - by 5 months it's hard to get them to focus on the boob at all...

How is her sleep at night? if she sleeps long stretches between feeds at night, then tbh I wouldn't mess with the day feeds, as it could be that her "stocking up" in the day is what enables her to sleep well at night.

minipie that's a good point, apart from over and since Christmas where lots of travelling and travel cot plus loads of new faces etc messed her sleep up she has been a very good sleeper, down at 8.30 and only waking 2 or 3 times before 7, so maybe the daytime is where she gets the reserves to go 4,5,6 hour stretches.
I'll try distracting and see if that helps in a,couple of weeks. I also need to get her out of the boob to sleep habit. So much to think about!!
Good luck sunday, I hope things improve for you too x

I always thought my dd could only go 2 hours. DH had her today and she lasted 4/5 without a feed. Turns out I'm offering the boob more than necessary. She'll take it of course! She is 20 weeks.
