What age do ebf babies become more efficient?

My little one is 9wo and ebf. He feeds every 2 hours during the day and then only wakes up once during the night which I'm happy with.
However, he is still taking over an hour to feed each time which leaves very little time inbetween feeds for naps, getting out of the house or feeding myself.
I feel that if I tried to space his feeds out further he wouldn't be getting enough during the day. Things would be a lot easier though if he could feed in say half an hour rather than a full hour.
So please, give me something to look forward to and tell me when your LO became quicker/more efficient at breastfeeding.

Yes they do. In 2-3 weeks time they suddenly become much quicker and feeds become quicker. They are also a bit big by then so can take more too.

I had a quick but often feeder - fed 10-15 mins every 45 mins. By three months ish that became 5-10 mins every 1.5 hours. The first few months was constant feeding but it got better. Smile

It was a series of step changes for us. Suddenly quicker at 12 weeks, then suddenly quicker at 16 weeks.

The 16 weeks change took the two-hourly feeds (day and night!) down to 10 mins or less for each feed :)

Once they're a bit bigger they also get easier to feed as you both know what you're doing. That makes it easier to do things while you're feeding (pair the socks, eat your dinner, that sort of thing. Not talking about full on housework!).

You're doing a great job and investing in all these loooong feeds now will lead to a healthy milk supply :)

Thanks for the advice, looks, like 3 months might be the time to hope for some improvement. This is my first child and I am really pleased with how breastfeeding is going but currently spending 6/7 hours a day feeding him. There is only so much daytime TV I can watch!
