Jaundice 4 day old and reflux.

Had my beautiful ds on Tuesday, my milk started to come in yesterday evening and every feed since he has brought some back up, sometimes only a teaspoon but then equally sometimes about 3-5 teaspoon worth (I'm not measuring it but this is what it looks like).
Midwife came yesterday (day 3) and said he is a little jaundice but as I'm already feeding every 1-3 hours and he's taking a good feed, the only extra thing I can do is get him natural daylight. Of course, he wasn't puking then.
Can reflux start this early and does it sound like this is what he might have? Also will this affect him getting rid of the jaundice? Midwife was not concerned as she said it's common for section babies and I struggled to feed him at the beginning as he wouldn't latch.
I'm sitting him up after he's finished for a little while and rubbing his tummy if he is distressed and this seems to help him but any other advice appreciated. I can count on one hand how many times dd puked in her whole life and she rarely posseted so this is all new to me

Bumping for you.

Congrats on ds.

I'm a peer supporter so not at all qualified to give advice. Firstly, I'd recommend a call to the BFN or similar helpline. They will ask the right questions in order to give you the right advice.

What is babies out put? Wet / dirty nappies?

How long is he feeding when he feeds every 1-3 hours?

Have you had your latch and positioning checked by a bf professional? Midwives have some training on bf so I'd personally recommend a bf counsellor or a midwife who's bf trained. Just a slight change in positioning may mean he doesn't take as much air down.

Possetting can be entirely normal for some babies. They are just bringing up what they don't need. Likewise, crying at 4 days old is also normal - they're no longer in a snug, warm comforting womb with your heart beat and food on tap. Linking posset and crying to reflux at 4 days probably isn't the case, but like I say, call a support line to talk it through.

If you spilt even a tablespoon of milk on to a flat surface it looks like loads. My dd used to be sick a lot, she was just a sucky baby who over fed (for comfort) and 'deposited' what she didn't want.

I hope he settled for you. Go easy on yourself - these first few weeks are hard

Hi
His output is ok, he has had 10 dirty nappies and possibly 3 which were wee only in the last 24 hours. Nappies are now mustard as well so meconium gone. His feeds last anything from 15 to 40 minutes but are mostly on the shorter side of that. He has done that since birth, which quite shocked me but a friend who is also a peer supporter said that because I only stopped feeding my daughter 5 months ago during pregnancy my boobs will produce better and he may be a more efficient feeder.
He's not crying very much at all, he's quite a calm baby but when he does it is usually tummy related or because we're changing his nappy.
I had his latch and positioning checked by a "professional" from the infant feeding team whilst still in hospital but after she told me to keep him on longer so he could get my hind milk, when my milk hadn't even come in yet and we were still at colostrum stage, I kind of stopped listening to her. But I will ring bf helpline thanks for the reminder
