Sore nipples-please help!

I've suspected there was something wrong with my 7 week old DDs latch for the last couple of days as breastfeeding on my right boob was very painful.
Lo & behold today I have a red blister on that nipple! I've smothered it in lanishol & I'll be watching my latch but it is SO sore to feed her from at the moment, has anyone got some tips for me on how to make things easier?
Any help is much appreciated.

Try doing a rugby ball hold on that side to take the pressies off the sore bit and get yourself to a breastfeeding support group ASAP as if you don't sort the latch you will just get more sore. It's tricky to advise with out seeing the latch but try tilting lo on different angles until it feels better. Sometimes a tounge tie can cause latching issues and/or sore nipples so maybe get someone to check that out for you. Sorry I can't be more help.

*pressure not pressies! Auto correct

Multimam compresses. Amazing.

Thanks very much for the advice, haven't had a chance to go out yet but will pick up the compresses.
I think as she's got heavier I have been holding her differently so I popped a pillow under my arm (& a ton of lanishol on my nipples) which seems to have done wonders :)

If It's really sore, just feed more on the other boob for a day or so and express from the painful boob. Have a look at what the kellymom website has to say about milk blisters.

In my experience, there's not necessarily anything wrong with your lpositioning.

try this one are very good for nipples and are as natural contact very soft.
no harm.
worth trying them.
good luck

and i just read the description you can contact the seller and get them posted quick, that's better for you, as my friend had the same problem and they help a lot your baby, still feeling the natural contact of the nipples and having the milk directly from you. so once your nipples are back to normal , the baby doesn't feel no much changes.

I'm not a mum but... I was on taking a look round as a Dad i saw your post and thought id share this, www.amazon.co.uk/Re-Useable-Maternity-Nursing-Breast-Pads/dp/B002ISEQ16/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1386003947&sr=8-4&keywords=Mind+%26+Body+Solutions+Ltd

I had the same thing and found nipple shells heal sore nippleszthe fastest. You milk dripping out speeds up healing plus air gets to circulate. So painful. My heart goes out to you xxx

lanishol by the bucketload and cabbage leaves straight out of the fridge only things that helped me. Hope it gets better soon

I would second multimam compresses- discovered them with my third child and pretty much kept them on 24/7 until my nipples healed. With my first two, I had terribly sore and cracked nipples. When I went to the breastfeeding clinic, the practitioner said that because I was anticipating the pain when the baby latched on, I would pull back at the last second and that resulted in a poor latch- vicious circle. In the end I expressed for a couple of days on one side and fed from the other and this definitely helped. Good luck- you've done so well so far.
