14wo poops up her back 3 times a day

At least. Every day. She's EBF.

Will this continue until weaning?! My washing machine can't keep up. I'm sure this didn't happen with DS.

A reusable could help with this. You still have the laundry but no more repeat outfit changes and ruined stained clothes. Or, as we experienced, mil with poo all over her white top Wink

We mix feed and days with more bf are always runnier.

fasterthanthewind · 28/11/2013 11:29

Or if you can't face washable nappies, just the wrap over a disp helps massively

JollySeriousGiant · 28/11/2013 12:30

We had reusables for DS for a while and you're right, I can't face them again. The size we have is too small for DD anyway. But the wraps should be okay. That's a good idea :)

Maybe try bigger nappy size? My DD used to do this a lot before we started weaning. I would always carry 2 changes of clothes in her change bag - one for her one for me!

FastWindow · 28/11/2013 16:37

It might be the brand of nappy. Pampers absorbent bit doesn't go all the way up the back any more, grrr.

Waitrose essentials range is good if slightly bulkier as ithas more absorbe pad. And the price is on a par with pamPampers, cheaper I'm pretty sure.

FastWindow · 28/11/2013 16:38

Wow, pretty inaccurate typos there. Sorry!

17leftfeet · 28/11/2013 16:38

I found that pampers and huggies created back leakage but the supermarket own brands never did

JollySeriousGiant · 28/11/2013 16:41

She's been known to require 3 changes of vest when we're out for the afternoon! She's already in fairly large nappies for her weight (size 3, she weighs around 14lbs).

We're using Morrisons own brand. I think I will maybe get DH to buy another brand tomorrow and see if that helps. Our nearest Waitrose is a 3.5 hour drive so sadly I can't go there!

Asda own brand are quite high in the back in my experience. Also try larger size if she is near the top end of the size she is in

KatAndKit · 29/11/2013 09:43

Size 4 is from 15 pounds so try that and see if it helps

clairikins · 29/11/2013 11:19

This is a problem with disposable nappies. There is nothing to prevent it shooting up the back. Changing brand or size won't make any difference with that.

Cloth nappies have elastic across the back. My daughter is a champion shitter and we have never had this issue. Many a time I have gone to change her nappy and the poo has gone up to the elastic but not beyond.

If you don't want to go the whole hog into cloth nappying then try just using a nappy wrap to hold in the poo explosions. Like this one

Another vote for reusable or at least a wrap. Poo containment requires proper elastic.
