Cutting out expressing

When DD was born 4 weeks ago by c section she really struggled to feed at all and I had ample milk supply. To maintain my supply or when she got the hang of things I started expressing and continued doing so in case she hasn't been growing bough and needed supplementing (took her 3 weeks to regain birth weight)

Now she's definitely growing and I seem to have a very fast let down on one side which she struggles to cope with. Looking online, perhaps it's the expressing that's contributing to this over supply and I should stop it. (also have a freezer full of milk I have no immediate need for)

Can I just stop the expressing I've been doing? I have been doing at least one session in the morning and sometimes one later too, getting 2 - 6 oz a day. Will stopping it risk my flow dwindling too much? Or bad engorgement? (bad enough in the mornings already!)

Thanks for any advice

No it shouldn't affect your supply. She is gaining weight well and you are over stimulating your supply. Just express what you need or express a little to relieve any pain if you are having any discomfort to prevent engorement. But don't pump until you're empty because that over stimulates. You are not using the milk in your freezer so there is little point getting more.
