DS 6 months screaming & crying and refusing breast

My DS was very upset last night. He cried and cried and was very tired and sounded like he was hungry, but when i tried offering breast he refused and cried even louder. Every 3rd or so time I offered he actually took it and turned out to be quite hungry. This went on for most of the evening. Before he actually went to sleep (10ish) he was crying more or less non stop for 30 mins, even though I was holding him. The today he has been fine, up to about 2 hours ago, when it all started again. He is now asleep after I sat him on my lap and we watched Lilo & Stitch (!), but I'm already dreading this evening.
The crying subsides if I take him in the livingroom, but starts again in the bedroom.

His evening routine went funny (not that it feels very funny) a week back after MIL looked after him and sat with him in lap for 1.5hours watching telly waiting for him to go to sleep even though it was way past his bedtime.
Can this have anything to do with it?
Also obviously the heat, but today is gray and rather cold.
He got his first 2 teeth 2 weeks ago, can this be the problem? There is no sign of any more at the moment.
The last couple of weeks he has not been very keen on EBM, only chewing on the teet, but today I offered EBM after rejection of boob again and he drank like he was starving.
I feel helpless and completely useless.
Please someone help me

Babies do have weird phases - sometimes they are just changing around their own routine or reacting to a change in appetite or weather or something. Could be to do with his teeth - perhaps his gums are extra tender.
Hang on in there! Have you tried a ring sling? I've found little ones sometimes settle to drinking better while I'm walking, so feeding in a sling is ideal.
