If you are bfing, try squirting some BM up his nose. If not, you can get a saline solution from the pharmacy and a nasal aspirator. Try putting him in his bouncy chair in the bathroom whilst you have a shower too. The steam seems to help.

Spray some saline up there, it'll loosen the gunk right up. For sleeping, we always went for Karvol on a tissue near the cot and Snufflebabe (Vicks for babies) on the chest.

I too was going to suggest saline, you can get drops or spray, drops seem more gentle on smaller babies, you can also buy 'snot sucker' ours is made by 4little1, it literally has a tube which you pop on babys nostril and then other end in your mouth and suck, snot is caught in little holding bay in the middle, sounds revoolting, but really works and if baby bad enough you will manage to do it, i couldnt imagine wanting to until ds was really poorly. P.s i dont think they are marketed as 'snot suckers'

I know this doesn't appeal to everyone, but sometimes it's easiest to just very quickly apply your mouth to his nose and suck. If he's getting upset about not being able to feed it will give him quick relief, which makes it worth it imo - sometimes with the snotsucking device they move their head around and it's hard to get it in without bashing their little nose.

My ds seems happier tilted up on on his side with his current cold. Rest assured it'll pass.
