Have always struggled with BF in public, as my first child tended to enjoy gawping around rather than feeding! So thinking of practicality over beauty really.

I tried a mamascarf but it was no good for my big boobs + big, long baby. I have a bébé au lait now and love it - I really like the way that the neckline stands proud so I can see baby while she feeds.

I have one of those too. They are quite pricey imo but I got mine a little cheaper on EBay (brand new). My only negative criticism of it would be that I do get really hot when I'm using it.

Ah, good to know. Saw the bebe au lait one in John Lewis last week and considered getting it, just wasn't sure if it was worth splashing out the nearly thirty quid on it. Can live with being a bit too hot I think as long as it does the job.

Know anyone who is a handy seamstress? (I wrote sewer, but that looked wrong Grin) Here is a free pattern for a bebe-au-lait style cover - they are stupidly expensive to buy IMO (and I bought one! Blush)
Hopefully this time you may not need to use it Smile

Have been looking for something like this as well, big boobs and fussy baby when feeding doesn't make for a good public BF!

Has anyone tried a breast feeding poncho? I saw someone using one and thought it looked good because she was covered well and seemed to be happily feeding!

My cousin used to use a muslin

I have use a mama scarf, but my preference is a light weight snood from primark. They are really big. Also super cheap. But the great thing about them is that they are a snood, and can be worn before, during and after a feed.

I'll second the primark snood. Works a treat with a bit of practice (and cost £2 because it doesn't come a box with a picture of a baby on [Grin]
