Recurring blocked duct

Breastfeeding my 9 mo and over the last month or so I've been getting lumps in my left breast, not full mastitis just a blockage. But it's really painful, takes a few days to go and then is back again. I've also noticed now it's moving around my breast, from the top to the outer side, now it's underneath. I do all the putting heat on and massaging during feeds, dangle feeding etc. I had thought it was my bra, started wearing a smaller one as DS has dropped a couple of feeds, I didn't feel as big but I've gone back to my bigger bra in case it was pushing into me. I don't want to stop BF but I'm worried there's something wrong here. I suspect lazy latch or something to do with DS's top teeth coming through that he's changing feeding positions. Anyone else experienced this and should I see a doc?

It can be a latch issue. I noticed I kept getting them on a particular side but only when I fed lying down as that would be the bottom breast, so I stopped doing it.

If it's one side in particular, do you notice a difference when you are feeding?

Kellymom has lots of suggestions for recurrent blocked ducts here . I had some latch issues in the weeks after DS2 got his top middle teeth. I spoke to one of the helplines, and the lady suggested I try feeding in some different positions for a few feeds, which seemed to improve his latch a lot. I also found I had to think about his positioning a little for a few weeks, rather than just automatically doing the same thing.

Thanks I think you're both right. I've got complacent after so many month BF, don't think about it any more but I will change positions as I've noticed he's pushing my boob out of his mouth and is right on the nipple, doesn't do it with right breast! Also, found out I have a milk blister! Going to the docs later. I'd looked before at my nipple but didn't notice anything as I'd always look just after feeding but noticed yesterday a little white patch - checked with good old Kelly Mom and yup. I'd never heard of it before. The things you learn eh?!
