Will a milk blister 'cure' itself?

I have developed what I think is a milk blister - though it could be a friction one as I noticed it after a feed with bad latch when I was feeding DS under pressure in an overly bright service station cafe!
I have had similar before and managed to burst them quite easily - but this one isn't shifting.
It isn't actually that painful too feed - so I am wondering will it resolve itself if I leave it?
Or if not does anyone have any top tips for sorting it - I am following tips from Kellymom as best I can.
Thanks

Scratch it with a sterilised needle?

If it's blocking a duct that would cause milk to back up which could cause problems so if you get an achey or lumpy boob I'd definitely give it another go.

You're doing everything I would have suggested. I had a right stubborn one a while ago.

Hot flannels before feeding?

I had to lance mine in the end. I would recommend your local breastfeeding group as mine was very supportive.

Thanks for the replies - delayed response as have been staying at PILs and just grinning and bearing it! It's still there and now seems to have a thicker surface (tmi!) so am going to have to tackle it I think.
Might have to have another go at lancing it after a large glass of wine.
If not do you think a nurse at the GP might do it?

Go to the docs!!! I've been having blocked ducts for about a month on and off and it's agony - just found out it's because of a milk blister on my nipple that's not letting the milk out. I can't get the blister off/out? myself as I think the skin has grown over it (eww gross tmi etc) You don't want to let the milk get backed up though as not only is it painful you might end up with mastitis - bite the bullet and see the doctor - I'll let you know how I get on after I've been tonight! Can't face doing it myself, als as Kellymom says, best to get doc to do it (sorry, written in haste!)
