Applying for jobs, need to knock it on the head now.
baby is 10 months, refuses bottles & cups.
Looks utterly disgusted at water or formula.

How do I do this as it feels impossible.

Could you express some & then mix it with formula bit by bit so they get used to the taste? I did that when switching from formula to cows milk & it worked well.

For you, try & scale it down feed by feed so your milk supply decreases & then use refrigerated Savoy cabbage leaves in your bra.

At 10 months baby should be ok on morning and evening feeds plus dairy and plenty of water in his food. you may find it easier to reduce down to that rather than introducing a bottle or cup... then try again with a cup when he's a few months older and feeling more independent?

agree with the idea of mixing ebm and formula but that doesn't help if he'll only drink from boobs!

have you tried someone else offering cup while you go out?

Started seriously withdrawing bm today.

Had morning drink at 8, breakfast at 9. I'm writing down what he eats as he eats tiny amounts. Worried he isn't having enough. Looks ok though written down.

Made him wait till 12nd AFTER some lunch. Kept him busy so he wasn't upset.

Lunch was ok.

He is now feeding though. I caved. Boobs sore, baby miserable. So going to give next feed at tea time.

This is HUGE steps forward for me as he pretty much feeds on demand which can be hourly.

I can only ever get 10/20mls when expressing.

I think gentle withdrawal is the way for us.

Does that sound ok do you think? Going to do this for a month as a weaning plan.

Yes I think cutting down gradually to say 4 feeds a day, then to 3, then 2 is a good plan. if you have the time then gradual is definitely best to avoid engorgement and potential mastitis as a result.
