Discreet breast pad recommendations?

I am wanting to where some nice summer tops. I saw that Boots sell 'ultra thin' breast pads, but they were sold out when I went back to buy them. Has anyone trie them, are they any good. Are there any other recomendations. Lansinnoh ones I had a few trial packs of were quite good but I have not seen anywhere that sells them & I suspect they will be v expensive.

I found the Johnson and Johnson ones by far the best on my sore boobies. Not sure about how discrete they are, but nice and soft so probably don't show either.

The Lansinoh ones are exactly the same as Tommee Tippee ones, and yes they are expensive. Mothercare sell the L ones, unsure of the price, but the TT ones are in Tesco, £4.99 for a box, maybe 50? Last a while though. I think I have tried all others although hadn't heard of the ultra thin ones, and found the L and TT ones far superior. HTH.

Shop at tesco all the time so will try TT. Could reserve them for the 'special' tops if they are touch on the expensive side

I would recommend the Tommee Tippee ones - large, flat and curved. Tesco have them on half price offer a few times a year (worth watching out for). My local ASDA sells them a bit cheaper too.

You could also go for Lilypadz which are a reusable silicon thing that are supposed to be very good. I think that www.twinkleontheweb.co.uk used to sell them.

I would also recommend the Lansinoh or Tommee Tippee ones, I tried loads of others and they were by far the most comfortable and discreet.

The Lillypadz look interesting. Anyone tried them? Like the idea of using them for swimming too. How long does the leaking last. I am 9wks & don't leak too much during the day (unless I think about feedng ), but enough that I wouldn't feel comfortable out & about without pads as she tends to go longer between feeds when in pushchair. Will it reduce further?

Sorry for the bad grammer & long sentence...

Not a recommendation, but ones to avoid - I have Avent washable ones and I love them, they are so comfy and soft, and hold plenty of milk too - but discreet they are not! I am seriously lacking in the nork department so they fill me out nicely but not what you are looking for! Never found any disposable ones that were at all comfortable (or discreet for that matter).

Has anyone mentioned silk ones? I think they are quite discreet.

The Boots ones are great. I'd go for those if they're back in stock. I only needed pads for the first three months or so, but they were my favourites (Avent ones were a bit odd, Lansinoh ones are good too though).

Jackmummy · 25/06/2006 21:45

I like the lasinnoh, TT or boots ones. All three are the same, as far as I can tell. But the boots are the cheapest!
Just so you know I've got the lansinnoh ones from mothercare and boots in the past. But at £6.50 a pack I started trying other brands!

I used lilypadz (i think the nct sell them now, too). I thought they were brilliant much more comfortable and easy to use than disposable pads. I didn't leak much, though and didn't need any pads at all after about 4-5 months (i think - my memory's not great!).

However - I have a friend who leaked a lot, and she found lilypadz made her norks a bit, erm, cheesy , so perhaps they're not great for heavy leakers..

FlameBoo · 26/06/2006 10:23

Tommee tippee here too.

JennT · 26/06/2006 11:12

I agree that TT, Lansinoh and Boots ultra thin are all the same. Tommee Tippee are on bogof at Tesco right now (online shopping at least) £4.99 for 60. I have tried loads and hey are def the best. Washable pads in the early days were useless, but dd 6 months now so as soon as I have finished stock pile of TT (was changing them upto 3 times a day at my peak) will go back to using them.
