Adding to frozen breast milk

Ds is nearly 8 weeks and exclusively Breastfed. I want to be able to give him the occasional bottle. Not necessarily now but I've been recommended to start now in case he refuses later and I would like to continue to bf when I go back to work.

So far I've attempted to express a bottle twice. The first time was at a wedding I hand expressed in the morning as I forgot the pump and got about 4 oz in 10 mins. Ds took the bottle easily but was still hungry afterwards so I fed him more. I guess this means he takes more than 4oz for this feed?
The second time I had used milk collection shells over a period of about 4 days adding to the bottle each time making about 5oz. However when I came to give it to him I wasn't happy with the smell and chucked it. I realised it was because it was in the door of the fridge rather than main part (which is 4 degrees)

I seem to have an abundant supply and leak about 1oz per feed on the side that I'm not feeding on so using the shell to collect it. The thing is I won't feed him a bottle that often so I'd rather freeze rather than refrigerate it. So if I'm collecting about 1-2 oz per day Can I add to frozen milk a bit each day or will I need to store it in little containers and add it together when I am giving it to him?

You can add to it, but make sure it's dated to the oldest milk,

You can't add warm milk to frozen milk, as some of the frozen milk may thaw, and then refreeze, which isn't safe.

You can add to chilled milk, though, so collect milk in the fridge over a few days, and then freeze it all together?

Ok that makes sense thank you.

Is there any problem with using milk that's leaked as opposed to expressed?

You can get freeze bags for breast milk (boots, home bargains etc) and they are fab - don't take up too much room, you aren't loosing out on containers and have date label etc on.
I think you can even use the bags in the bottle once defrosted... Not sure if most would, but guess if you are out and about it keeps the milk sterile and you could have a clean teat.... Anyways, I find the bags very useful for freezing, even if just a small amount.

Well done on expressing so much, I know lots find it hard, so the fact you have a good supply should mean you soon get a little back supply for use when ever you need. Good luck

No issue at all with using milk that's leaked, rather than expressed.
