When is it meant to 'get better'?!!!!

I have a very unsettled little refluxer at 10 weeks old. She was put on gaviscon and ranitidine and we saw such a difference in her. Night times calmed down a bit and was getting lots of smiles and stories.
Over the past two weeks though she's went downhill again. Cries all the time, screams for food every 1.5 hrs, puking again, won't nap, won't go in her pram or a sling and is not smiling as much at all. My mum does not believe my DD has reflux and just says its colic and it will pass etc. So many people say 'it gets better' but it seems to be getting worse!!
So the question is: when did the unsettled period get better for you?!
I have an appt with the GP tmrw to discuss the reflux but my family are insisting I just go in and talk about me as they think I have PND. I think it's just the stress of having a reflux baby in pain!!

Ranitidine is very weight sensitive - if she's grown a bit it will need increasing.
Our absolute worst point was at 4-5 months old, shortly before we worked out that underlying cows milk and soya intolerance was causing a lot of the problems. Cutting out milk and soya (either out of your diet if BF or by using hypoallergenic formula) made a huge difference.
Ranitidine only worked temporarily for us - omeprazole much more effective.
You are probably not PND - dealing with a refluxer is enough to make anyone struggle.
Little Refluxers website is a lifeline, and the book Colic Solved despite stupid title, is required reading.

you probably don't want to hear mine outgrew it between two and three

Good luck, don't be fobbed off.

Echoing Bakingtins I'd also think about your diet and if that may be affecting your milk. For my mum with us it was strawberries. For my DD it's dairy I've cut down (but not out because I like stuff with milk in) e.g. no cereal with milk but still marg on toast. Cut down her puking loads. Now I can tell when I've been on a dairy 'bender'!

If your DD is ff there are lots of different types of milk specifically to help with this.

It gets better with sleep in my experience. My mother in law kept Saying it was wind or colic. They have NO idea. You know your baby. It is so hard to deal with and I was in tears most days while I saw him struggling to feed. Then he would have a normal feed and people looked at me like i was making it all up.
Ranitidine helped after 2 weeks and suddenly the waking every half hour stopped and we slept at last. Then it got better.
Now he has grown and the increased dosage isn't working so seeing a consultant in a week. Back to no sleep and some pain while feeding getting worse. Once again I'm struggling and so is he.

It will get better permanently, but until then we need to find the drugs that help them feel better. Definitely get the dose changed if it can be.

Are you getting much sleep? If not, try to get someone to help you get sleep. You need support from your family, not judgement. Can they help sit your lo while you get some kip or time to yourself?
Someone said to me that pnd is common with reflux as its so hard to deal with, so do take care of yourself.
I hope it gets better for you both really soon. Xx

Thanks everyone. I think I'm just exhausted mentally more than anything. She'll sleep fine at night at the moment, mainly down to not napping in the day. She's also very grumpy ALL day at the mo and its a lot of work to keep her amused!!
I just thought that as you reach the 12 week mark you start to see them get better etc. I've got another week and a half till then, so miracles might happen ha ha!!
