Hi, I've been reading through some breast feeding threads and noticed people saying the nipple being wedge shape isn't right. My right nipple always is wedge shape after feeding although the left side is usually fine.

What does this mean?

My ds is now almost 6m. He is usually breast fed, we have tried bottles but he can't seem to get the hang of it, he suck but half the milk ends up down him.

He also still has reflux and brings a mouthful or so of milk up after most feeds.

A wedge shape can indicate the nipple is being compressed against the hard palate, and this can be painful for the mother. It might also indicate the baby is not feeding as effectively as he might be.

But honestly, after 6 months, if you are not in pain and your baby is doing fine, it's nothing to worry about :)

Plenty of babies this age still bring back a bit of milk after stopping.
