my knee is inflamed and am unable to see a GP today. have taken some paracetamol, but really think neurofen/ibrufen would be better. but dont know if i can take it.

Yes, it's fine. (at least I was told by a midwife after DS1 it was fine!)

Found this "The levels of ibuprofen which pass to the baby are small. Ibuprofen is safe to take whilst breastfeeding."

Yeah, it's fine. Particularly when you're bf an older baby (which I think your dd3 is?) who could have neurofen on her own, anyway.

Neurofen gel can help these things. And the usual, rest, ice, compression, elevation drill. (ha ha ha, I know, like you'd get a chance ...)

If you end up going to the GP, get a scrip for voltrol, v. good antiinflammatory, v. safe with bf. (Physios are very good with knees.)

i normally get voltrol for my neck/back problems. get the odd knee twinge but ntohing like this before.

stupid gp's with their policy at appointments, i was trying for almost 2hours on the phone.

I have voltrol in the cabinet from when I had DS2. Worth keeping a cache of it, I think.

Physios can do good stuff for necks and backs and knees. With all the heavy lifting etc you're doing these days, you could probably do with a bit of help ...

misdee · 20/06/2006 11:40

probably could do with seeign a physio, either that or a walking stick. will see if i can get an appointment tomorrow.

its my left knee so i was almost crying changing gears when driving earlier, but i couldnt walk either.

Where is the pain? A brace might help, as an intermediate solution? (Or wrapping it with one of those stretchy bandages?)

Please do go see a physio, they really can help, and give you exercises and tricks to keep this from happening over and over.
