My HV said you can use it from 8 weeks, follow on milk is from 6 months, dd2 is on hungry baby and has been from 8 weeks but still takes 180ml evry 2-3 hours, not realy sure if it has helped.

i used it with my ds from 3 months but hv are still reluctant to recommend it as it has high iron content and can make baby constipated. its worth giving it a go though if baby seems unfulfilled with other milk

your dd should be eating every 3 hours .. I'd stick with normal formula tbh .. around 8 weeks they get a growth spurt for a week or so that tails off

don't risk her tummy

We had a very hungry baby, and we were desperate for him to sleep a bit longer, a bit quicker. Ha! More fool us. [rueful smile]
We tried hungry baby formula at night and ordinary stuff during the day, and it made zero difference to him. Not a jot.

I wouldn't bother again.

ds was a monster feeder, can't remember what age i put him on to hungry baby (he was only a few weeks though), but what a difference it did make... hv was shit she was never around to advise me so i had to follow my insticts... he went from feeiding every 1-2 hours to 3-4 hours... he also started sleeping through the night when we started this!! what a result!!!
my sister was advised not to use it for her ds as their was no need.... but my theory is try it, if it don't work at least you tried :o

The difference in the 2 formula's - first nad hungrier is the ratio of whey and curds.

Whey is light and easily passes thru the tummy, curds are heavier and sit for longer in the tummy giving the baby a ''feel fuller for longer message''

Both are suitable from birth.

Moving onto hungrier formula may reduce baby's volume and cause constipation as less fluid going in, personally i would stick with first formula and every 3 hours is a good feeding routine, baby may not increase feed volume for some time so will catch up with advised feed volume on your milk tin.

Sorry, the first has more whey and the hungrier has higher curds.

Hence the difference in digestion but the amount and number of feedsis the same.
