Can you suggest the best sling for nursing in please?

I have a two year old dd and need feed hands free!!

I have a wrap sling and baba sling but never got on with that with dd!

I feed my 6 mo in a front cross carry in a woven wrap but not sure how comfy that'd be with an older one. Is there a sling library near you?

A ring sling is the only one I can feed with. I found it incredibly useful for DS2 and now DD1, when I couldn't just sit on the sofa for hours on end feeding.

What I do is start with baby in an upright tummy to tummy position, loosen rings and swivel her down to latch on. Then tighten rings again and voila! Hands free feeding. Once she's finished and nodded off I reverse the process.
A word of warning though, wear a vest that you can pull down so your tummy stays covered! It's hard to drape your top discreetly over a post-pregnancy tummy with a sling in the way Grin

I fed loads in a ring sling. I just held ds on my arm to latch on, then tightened the sling round it all, slipped my arm out and tighten some more.

Ah right sorry! I was surprised feeds were long enough to be worth it but I'm no expert so didn't say anything Smile

Woven is fine with a newborn too though you'd probably feed in cradle carry. But the ring sling sounds ideal. Why not try one at a library if you can?

Hi!
I could never feed DS in a wrap sling although I did try a few times. However at 3mo we went to the Paralympics and I fed him in an ergo. I popped him in as normal and then loosened it down until his head was in the right place. Then I popped him on the boob. I highly recommend a big drapey cardi though so you don't feel exposed. I had a loose cotton one from my younger days which was perfect.
Best of luck. If you have a sling library near you then they will be the best people to give you live hands on advice!! (Or try a local sling swap or meet - not as hippy as you might imagine, at least not in London!)
