Some advice on stopping breastfeeding.

Hi I want to stop breastfeeding my 6 month old, to be honest I have hated breast feeding, but am well chuffed i have done it for the last 6 months.

The whole thing has been a means to an end which I feel that I have failed in as its never really been a bonding thing and to honest think its nicer for both of us when i bottle feed her and not fight to breast feed her.
Annoyingly she has been diagnosed with a cows milk allergy and I also suspect an egg allergy, so even though I have cut out dairy and eggs from my diet it hasn't made her healthy in fact when I do eat the tiniest bit of say milk it makes her really poorly so she is better on the nutriragem formula.
She happily drinks from a bottle (she has from 6 weeks and she's totally fine with her nutriragem formula to be honest I feed her mostly formula but the problem is that I express quite a lot so have a fair amount of supply which I seem to be pumping more and more and storing it in the fridge.

I am worried about getting mastitis as I get very uncomfortable when my boobs are full of milk so I have been pumping, it's stupid as she sleeps right through the night but I am waking up about 3 times to express so am tired and seem to be like a pumping machine.

So any advice or please to ease me out of breast feeding pain free. ( it's strange how there is so little advice out there for stopping breastfeeding).

The best way to stop breast feeding with out pain is to wean yourself off it e.g. Start with missing 1 feed a day best if it around the same time and increasing it as the day's carry on your body will stop producing as much. I best feed for nearly 2 month and had lots of milk it took my body about a week your may take slightly longer and once your on to full bottles if it does work you.should get sore/ Firm give or give that to babe and you should be fine :) I hope this helps

cut down on pumping, express just enough to remove discomfort. Milk is created on supply and demand, so the less you express the less you will make.

Ps I know it will be a bit different as your babe as allergies and is probably On foods but hopefully it's the same jist x

Change the leaves every few hours - keep them In fridge
